a step into the garden. the house steps along the plot and subordinates everything to the open space. the public, serving rooms sit at the front, while a staggered volume with the private rooms steps toward the back. between them, a pass-through living room reaches from the arrival all the way into the garden.
in this way the house zones the garden and makes it tangible in different ways, from the open forecourt across the terrace to the retreat by the swimming pond. a timber façade, a folded roof and characteristic round windows give the design its expression, and a green roof settles it into the landscape.
