dona hill

a competition entry for a full-day school with a special-needs focus in vienna's donaufeld. a stepped volume descends from five storeys to one — like a green hill — and is organised into four linear "fingers" along a central meeting band.

each cluster, with its own living room and adjoining open-air classroom, forms a sheltered learning world. because the site is a protected toad habitat, all open space moves onto the roof: planted terraces for sport, gardening and research, step-free from every floor. timber modular construction with green façades — a climate-active, demountable building block.
